The football season is with us once more and if you have a husband, boyfriend, son, dad or friend who love football you will know how excited and anxious they get at this time of the year. If they are not at the match, they will be pacing up and down in front of the radio on a Saturday afternoon listening to the game and willing their team to score a goal.
They will probably also own the shirt that the team play in away from the home ground and maybe even a third kit.
There are many other gifts and toys for football fans. Some clubs offer clumps of the pitch turf as collectable items. There are versions of Monopoly that refer to the teams and the players, with hotels and streets that refer to the club's local area. Floor to ceiling wallpaper is available for those who wish to turn their living space or bedrooms in to a shrine to their team. There are lamps, light shades, rubber ducks, badges, stickers, photos, T- shirts, music CD's and cuddly toys, all emblazened with team insignia.
There is one gift specifically for the fans, a dancing, singing toy that looks just like a little football fan. He swings his hips and waves a replica scarf chanting some of the most popular team songs.
I've also seen doors printed all over with pictures of players and the teams badges.
If there is someone who loves football in your life and is also difficult to buy presents for, take the football route. All fans like to own products that prove an affiliation with their favourite team.
